Thai Painting
The Thai painting is privately owned by Doris Duke and needed treatment after badly getting water damaged in a storm.
The goal of the treatment is 1) consolidate the flaking paint and 2) tone damages back so they are not distracting the viewer from the overall aesthetic experience.
My Part
I was in charge of making the glaring white residue from the price tag sticker in the left corner unnoticable from a 6 foot distance. The materials I used to inpaint were QoR watercolors, powder pigments, and mica. At times, the QoR colors were too glossy, so I used powder pigments to achieve a matte look. I used mica w/v aquazol and acetone to give an added glimmer to the parts that were originally gilded.
